Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital

Event Overview
Our very first S.T.A.G event took place in the Child Life Zone at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, and it was truly unforgettable. We had the privilege of working with their Gaming and Technology Specialist, who shared a wishlist of items for the hospital and for children who needed their own consoles.
We worked hard to bring those wishes to life and were honored to donate a wide range of gaming equipment, including:
1 PlayStation 5
2 Nintendo Switch consoles
1 Xbox Series S
1 PC gaming computer with 2 joystick controllers
2 adaptable Wii controllers
6 Nintendo Switch games
Xbox gamepads and gaming gift cards
The Child Life Zone was transformed into a lively S.T.A.G arcade day, complete with a Mario Kart tournament, colorful decorations, and games set up throughout the space. The kids laughed, played, and connected with each other in ways that reminded us exactly why S.T.A.G exists, to create joy, community, and moments where children feel like themselves again.
Highlight Moment:
One of the most memorable moments came when we surprised a patient named Molly with a Nintendo Switch. Her eyes lit up as she talked about playing with her younger brother, and in that moment, we saw exactly what Neal’s vision was about, giving kids not just a game, but a way to connect, imagine, and hold on to joy even on the hardest days.
Closing Reflection:
By the end of the day, it felt like S.T.A.G truly came to life. The energy in the room, the laughter, and the bonds shared with the kids and their families captured everything we stand for. We are so grateful to have had the privilege of bringing this experience to them and witnessing firsthand how joy and play can make a lasting difference.

Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital
Hollywood, FL
Event Overview
On July 14, we returned to Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital for our second S.T.A.G event, an Art Bash that brought creativity and connection to the Child Life Zone. While gaming will always be central to S.T.A.G, this event gave kids and their siblings a chance to imagine, create, and take something special home.
Items we donated:
1 Xbox Series S
1 Nintendo Switch
2 additional gaming consoles
10 Nintendo Switch games
2 Xbox Game Pass gift cards
We set up three activity stations:
Slime-making: clear slime with beads, glitter, scents, and containers
Jewelry-making: bracelets with colorful beads and string
Painting: canvases for kids to design their own art
For patients who could not attend, we prepared small activity kits so they could still join in. Families, the Child Life team, and our S.T.A.G volunteers all came together for a day filled with creativity, pizza, and laughter.
Highlight Moment:
A 17-year-old patient received a Nintendo Switch along with Zelda, the game he had been hoping for. His smile was immediate, and his mom recorded the moment as he shared how excited he was to play with his friends and siblings once home. It was a reminder that behind every donation is a real impact on a child’s daily life, offering comfort, joy, and something to look forward to even in difficult times.
Closing Reflection:
The Art Bash showed us how powerful it is to create spaces where kids can simply be kids. Whether through art or gaming, the event gave children and families moments of relief and connection that last beyond the day itself. It was another step in carrying forward Neal’s vision, proving again that joy and community can make a lasting difference.
