Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital
Hollywood, FL

Our very first S.T.A.G event took place in the Child Life Zone at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, and it was truly unforgettable. We had the privilege of working with Gaming and Technology Specialist Robin Weintraub, who provided us with a wishlist of items for the hospital and for specific children who needed these consoles.

We worked hard to bring as many of these wishes to life as possible and were honored to donate a wide range of gaming equipment, including:

  • 1 PlayStation 5

  • 2 Nintendo Switch consoles

  • 1 Xbox Series S

  • 1 PC gaming computer with 2 joystick controllers

  • 2 adaptable Wii controllers

  • 6 Nintendo Switch games

  • Xbox gamepads and gaming gift cards

At the event, we arrived with all the donations wrapped as gifts, along with decorations and activities to bring the S.T.A.G arcade day to life. We transformed the beautiful Child Life Zone into a lively arcade area, complete with a Mario Kart tournament. Playing alongside the kids and seeing their excitement reminded us exactly why S.T.A.G exists — to create moments that let children feel like themselves again.

One of the most meaningful moments of the day was giving a Nintendo Switch to a patient named Molly. Seeing her excitement as she talked about playing with her younger brother was a powerful reminder of why S.T.A.G exists. Moments of joy are important, but what truly matters is giving kids something that helps them connect, play, and feel like themselves — even on the hardest days.

After the event, it truly felt like S.T.A.G came to life. The energy in the room, the laughter, and the connections we shared with the kids and their families captured everything we stand for. We are so grateful to have had the privilege of bringing this experience to them and seeing firsthand how joy and play can make a real difference.

Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital
Hollywood, FL

On Monday, July 14, we returned to Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital for our second STAG event, an Art Bash that brought creativity and connection to the Child Life Zone. While gaming will always be at the heart of S.T.A.G, this event was about giving kids and their siblings a different kind of experience — one where they could create, imagine, and take something special home.

For this event, we donated:

  • 1 Xbox Series S

  • 1 Nintendo Switch

  • 2 additional gaming consoles

  • 10 Nintendo Switch games

  • 2 Xbox Game Pass gift cards

We set up three stations: slime-making, jewelry-making, and painting. For the slime station, we brought a giant bucket of clear slime along with beads, gems, glitter, scents, and containers so the kids could customize and keep their creations. At the jewelry station, they made bracelets, and at the painting station, they created their own canvas art. For kids who could not make it to the Child Life Zone, we put together small activity kits so they could still take part in the day.

Parents, siblings, the Child Life team, and our S.T.A.G team all joined in to make it a memorable day. We brought pizza and snacks, and it was special to see both new faces and some of the kids and families we had met at our first event.

One of the most meaningful moments was donating a Nintendo Switch to a 17-year-old patient. We even had the game he had been hoping for, Zelda. When we handed it to him, he smiled right away, and his mom recorded the moment. It was clear how much it meant to them. He shared how excited he was to play with his friends and siblings when he returned home.

This event was another reminder of why we created S.T.A.G and how we can continue to meet and spend time with more children and families, creating experiences that follow our mission of spreading joy and connection.
